I live in Australia, in the sub-tropics, which is very lovely, but, the thing is, the weather has this thing in the early spring. Don’t get me wrong, it’s my favourite time of year. The cold weather just breaks and suddenly the days are long and toasty warm, the mornings are cool, the sun shines, the beach is warm and the surf is flat and it’s just fantastic.
The problem is, it lasts for about three weeks. Then, snap, just like that, its hot and steamy. Summer is here. It will hang around for about eight months before another three weeks of beautiful balmy weather in the autumn.
Well summer arrived with a vengeance on the weekend so I did what practically everyone else in the city did; I went shopping.
Originally I planned to replace a pair of denim shorts that I love but have sadly worn to death.
I came home with a new pair of shoes, a pair of dress shorts for work and a couple of new tanks. All in all, for this plus size lady, it was a fairly good shopping adventure. I usually end up trying on a million items and walking away because nothing is quite right so for me, quite the success. If you’re a plus size lady, make sure you find fashion to suit your size.
I got home and tried everything on again and I realised I already have everything that I bought. And considering my wardrobe contains hardly anything that is a freaking miracle. I spent the better part of $80 and got not one single different item.
Well damn! I’m trying to change my style here and it’s a bit difficult if I keep buying the same thing over and over again! Sure I now have nice, shiny new versions of it, but damn!
Jeez. Who’d have thought changing could be so difficult.
I gotta make a plan.
